HTML is a verbose lisp – and that’s great but awful

Therefore is JSX basically a shitty LISP embedded in JS? To bridge the gap between “LISP” for data and “not LISP” for the programming (Javascript). But for a LISP to work, especially in a setting as dynamic as that of Clojure or HTML, one needs to understand the structure of the domain (libraries/frameworks vs DOM). And that…requires work. It’s all for the best, but it requires lots of work, presumably by lots of people. Or we can stick to hypermedia like normal human beings. HTML, and browsers, by extension, are absolute units. The HTML “Living standard” is longer than 1400 pages, as of August 2023. That is wild. Would I rather learn HTML, or a useful language like Hindi or Manderin, or literally anything else? I’ll do it. But I won’t like it.

I can deal in for loops and if statements. But this is thousands of keys, values, enums, and strings 4 dayzzzz. What I do even do with that?

I used to hate HTML, then I learned to enjoy Lisps, then I thought I might enjoy HTML. But I really just hate capitalism.
